How Blinkit Engineered Instant Print Delivery
I thought reading long articles, even if they are easy, was a pain in the eye.
So I thought, why not learn visually?
My challenge every time would be to turn that article into just 1 diagram, and that’s it.

And as usual, before I start, thanks a lot to the original authors; it was an enriching read.

Blinkit, India’s instant delivery app, launched the country’s first print delivery service: letting customers get documents printed and delivered to their doorstep.
Powered by Raspberry Pi Zero hardware and a three-layer microservices architecture:
- Printing Service,
- Proxy Printing Service, and
- Store Controller Service
the system automates print jobs from payment to delivery with 99.9% uptime.
Built with IoT integration and gRPC communication, it handles real-time printer telemetry, paper jam detection, and over-the-air software updates.
Security is a top priority, with files deleted immediately after printing.
Future updates will include passport photos, poster printing, and custom merchandise delivery.
