Day 24-28: Feeling Lost
First, I learnt about Conventional Commits.
And then Commitizen.
Super simple, but pretty helpful for keeping a repo clean and contributable.
This was another interesting thing I didn’t know about: i18n.
It’s useful when building framework-like things. Honestly, I feel many of my projects will need something like this going forward.
When we share a blog post anywhere on the internet and see an image with the link, one of the libraries that can help generate that is Satori.
They’re called OG (Open Graph) images.
I also found Pagefind, which is super helpful for search functionality on static sites.
But I want my content to come from a database.
Which means I need to find something else.
For the database, I’m deliberately choosing SQLite for now.
I know it doesn’t scale beyond one server, but honestly, no blog really gets that big with AI on.
Or should I use Postgres instead?
And in that whole process, I even started wondering:
Does anyone still read or write blogs in 2026?
I also started working on my RAG portfolio, added tests to one of my projects, and applied to many more companies.
I also started asking for referrals.
And then…
For two days straight, I went blank.
I was crying almost all the time.
The journey isn’t really going the way I planned.
Or the way it seemed when I started.
I lost almost all my confidence and self-belief.
So much so that I wanted to quit.
But then, on the third day — Day 28 — I pulled myself back together.
This time, a little warmer.
Because the process itself is harsh enough.
You are mostly battling alone.
And somehow, your problems don’t even seem like real problems.
If you ask me today, on Day 28:
I’ll say there’s no chance I’ll get a job by Day 35.
And that’s why I’m extending this to Day 65.
Not because I’ve given up.
Because I’ve improved a lot.
And every passing day, I keep improving.
I’ve even started gathering interview flashcards. I’ll share them soon.
Which means I’m just one right swipe away from a company. 😭
I won’t say I’m perfect.
But I’ll make sure I miss nothing before my first interview.
For now, back to work.
See you tomorrow.
[One more thing I won’t be applying anywhere next week. Just want get in and anyhow ensure that I am prepared for any sort of process]
[No applications no talking just putting myself back together super strong this time]
