Day 13: I Got Rejected By My DREAM Company
So, the Big Tech OA that went well is still in process.
During this time, I also submitted this project for Razorpay’s Buildathon Challenge:
https://github.com/maitry4/runbait
- And kept practicing DSA.
- I’m even starting to revamp python-hub.com.
- I also created a website that handled 200+ submissions for a club event.
Now, today, when I woke up, I found a rejection email from one of my dream companies.
I won’t name it.
But honestly, I didn’t feel bad or sad like I normally would.
You know why? I applied there on July 11th, 2026.
That’s almost exactly two months ago. [Maybe this is my 11:11 sign that something good can happen. 😂]
In the meantime, I have improved a lot.
And if I saw that application today, I would have rejected me too.
But this time I’m better.
And what’s even more interesting is that…
The role is still open. [This has to be my 11:11]
I’ll spend the next 8 days refining myself and apply again on September 20th, if the position is still open.
I’m significantly better than I was two months ago.
But I want to be a little better.
I had been feeling lost for the last 2 days.
I have an OA today evening on campus. [Don’t really know if I want it.]
I felt overwhelmed.
But the rejection gave me something. [A gift]
Clarity.
Direction.
Purpose.
A reason to try again.
I thank my dream company for making me push myself further.
It’s an even bigger dream for me now.
And the next time I apply, apart from the possibility of being automatically rejected because of my previous application, I’ll make sure that nothing about my profile is easily rejectable.
As the saying goes:
“Rejection is just a redirection.”
You know what?
Even these 35 days feel pretty long.
I almost feel like I’ve lived a decade in these days.
Let’s see what happens.
Have you ever felt any of this?
Let me know in the comments.
